If you want to attract good things, you have to recognize what’s already good.
Hello, my lovely readers!
Hopefully everyone has had a warm and joyful holiday season. I know I’ve really enjoyed spending time with friends and family; it’s been a beautiful celebration of love.
If you’ve been keeping up with this blog for a while (or honestly, even if you’re just glancing at it for the first time), you’ve probably noticed that the things I choose to write about predominantly focus on various ways we can attract greater joy, abundance, and positivity into our lives—things such as practicing mindfulness, living authentically, exploring our creativity, accepting ourselves as we are, toning our chakras, listening to music, expressing gratitude, and embracing purposeful lives. The fourth piece in the Chakra Series
Welcome back for the fourth post in my Chakra Series, which has everything to do with the heart chakra! With a recent major opening of my heart chakra, this is the perfect time for me to be writing about it. Continue reading “The Heart Chakra: Signs of Blockage and How to Heal”
The second piece of the Chakra Series
Welcome back for the second article in my Chakra Series! If you didn’t get to check out the first piece in the series, The Root Chakra: Signs of Blockage and How to Heal, I suggest that you start there. It’s much easier to balance and open the other chakras if the root chakra, which connects us to the earth, is first balanced. Now, we are going to take a closer look at the sacral chakra, the second of the seven major chakras. Continue reading “The Sacral Chakra: Signs of Blockage and How to Heal”
The first piece in the Chakra Series
Welcome to my Chakra Series! Last week, I wrote an article called “Chakras: The Basics and How You Can Heal Yours.” There was quite a bit of positive feedback on the article (which I GREATLY appreciated), and to continue on the subject, I decided to begin this series, which will explore and discuss each chakra in greater depth, one at a time. We’ll be looking at the basic information about each chakra, as well as signs of imbalances and blockages and a variety of ways that each chakra can be cleared for optimal healing. Everyone can find a way to make time to engage in activities that make them come alive.
Having or showing determination or resolve; having a useful purpose; intentional.
One morning about a month and a half ago, I was taking a shower, getting ready for work. It had been a long and exhausting summer at work, and although I certainly enjoyed aspects of it, I felt that every moment of free time was consumed by my exhaustion. I was burnt out, and it was difficult for me to put time and energy toward the things that brought me alive. Some of my creative endeavors—one of them, writing—were falling to the wayside, and I began to feel like a robot whose sole task was to go to work every morning and come home, exhausted, every evening. It was a hopeless, numbing feeling, and I did not feel like I was living intentionally, wholeheartedly, or purposefully. This is one of the reasons that, in the shower that morning, I simply decided that I needed to quit my job. At least for a while. Continue reading “On Living Purposefully”
It’s important to own our stories.
This past Tuesday was World Mental Health Day, a day to raise awareness of and shatter the stigmas associated with mental health issues. In honor of World Mental Health Day—and really, for the purpose of helping myself and others cope with all the crazy stuff going on in our beautiful minds—I want to give my take on mental health (anxiety in particular) and share some of the practices that have helped me heal and cope. Continue reading “My Struggles with Anxiety and The Best Ways to Cope”
