The Importance of Loving and Taking Care of Ourselves

Part 1 of the Self-Love Series

Hi!

Hopefully everyone has had a wonderful week. This has been my last week of winter break; classes start again tomorrow, and I could not be more ready. I’ve changed my major from education to English literature, and just reading through my syllabi online was getting me so excited! I can tell the next couple months are going to be amazing, and I hope they’ll be amazing for you, too. Continue reading “The Importance of Loving and Taking Care of Ourselves”

Make like a Plant: On Choosing Joy

Plants always choose the light.

Houseplants are wonderful. They clean the air, purify the energy of a room, and brighten up the space they occupy. My grandma has three big, beautiful jasmine plants in her living room that fill the space with lush greenery and—a few times a year—the sweet aroma of jasmine flowers. The Divine Feminine: Unleashing the Goddess Within

“the closest thing to god on this earth is a woman’s body”

when my mother was pregnant

with her second child I was four

i pointed at her swollen belly confused at how

my mother had gotten so big in such little time

my father scooped me in his tree trunk arms and

said the closest thing to god on this earth

is a woman’s body it’s where life comes from

and to have a grown man tell me something

so powerful at such a young age

changed me to see the entire universe

rested at my mother’s feet

–Rupi Kaur, milk and honey Continue reading “The Divine Feminine: Unleashing the Goddess Within”
