Chakras are an integral part of our physical and spiritual beings.
Sometimes, I get really bad heartburn. The kind of heartburn that seems to last for days and days and makes me feel so gross. Picturing a bright yellow light in the area of my solar plexus usually helps alleviate this.
Sometimes, I feel a sort of pressure or even a gentle vibrating sensation on my forehead, right between my eyebrows, in my third eye. This tells me that my intuition is active and strong.
Sometimes, my chest gets really tight. It feels like it needs to crack, but I can’t crack it. This could mean that my heart chakra is blocked, so I take the necessary steps to open it again. Continue reading “Chakras: The Basics and How You Can Heal Yours”
Everyone can find a way to make time to engage in activities that make them come alive.
Having or showing determination or resolve; having a useful purpose; intentional.
One morning about a month and a half ago, I was taking a shower, getting ready for work. It had been a long and exhausting summer at work, and although I certainly enjoyed aspects of it, I felt that every moment of free time was consumed by my exhaustion. I was burnt out, and it was difficult for me to put time and energy toward the things that brought me alive. Some of my creative endeavors—one of them, writing—were falling to the wayside, and I began to feel like a robot whose sole task was to go to work every morning and come home, exhausted, every evening. It was a hopeless, numbing feeling, and I did not feel like I was living intentionally, wholeheartedly, or purposefully. This is one of the reasons that, in the shower that morning, I simply decided that I needed to quit my job. At least for a while. Continue reading “On Living Purposefully”

“Babe, you are the universe.”

I hope you guys love it as much as I do. Continue reading “30 Quotes to Help You Love Yourself as You Are”
Music actually does make you happier!
So let me start this out by saying that I have always had a love for music, as most people probably have. As a child, I was a competitive dancer and loved to make music using my tap shoes, and later on, I played the piano. When I was in middle school and high school, I did choir and show choir, and over the years, I have often looked to positive, uplifting music to help me boost my mood. A mindful morning will prepare you for a wonderful day.
Is it just me, or are mornings sometimes *a little* hard to handle? Even if I don’t have to go to class or work until 9 or 10 o’clock, I find myself staying in bed until the last possible moment, until I eventually roll out, brush my teeth, grab a granola bar, and head out the door. In my mind, I reason that staying in bed as long as possible will help me be nice and rested for the day ahead. But unfortunately—as I’m sure we have all figured out at some point—this is not the case. Continue reading “5 Ways to Practice Mindfulness in the Morning”
It will change your life.
When I was first brainstorming ideas for this little blog of mine, I came up with the idea to talk about gratitude journals. But as I was getting ready to start writing about it, I realized something: I haven’t been keeping a gratitude journal! You might be thinking, “What?! Sonia doesn’t follow her own advice?!” And the answer to that is sometimes I don’t (although I know I would attract an abundance of joy into my life if I did!). Anyway, I definitely was not about to be hypocritical, so instead of writing my post, I got out a cute little notebook, and I started listing the things I was thankful for. I’ve been doing it for about a week now, and I already feel like I have grown so much. So, without further ado, I am so excited to share one of my FAVORITE happiness-inducing techniques with you!
