Plants always choose the light.
Houseplants are wonderful. They clean the air, purify the energy of a room, and brighten up the space they occupy. My grandma has three big, beautiful jasmine plants in her living room that fill the space with lush greenery and—a few times a year—the sweet aroma of jasmine flowers. She must have one of the greenest thumbs in the world; sometimes, I’m actually convinced she’s goddess of abundance incarnate. It’s incredible. She’s the reason that, about nine months ago, I decided to start nurturing some plants of my own. She really inspired me. Continue reading “Make like a Plant: On Choosing Joy”
The third piece in the Chakra Series
Welcome back to my Chakra Series for post #3—the solar plexus chakra! I’m extremely excited to be writing this article today. It has been a week of difficult but for-the-best change in my life, and I’ve felt my solar plexus chakra opening up and radiating with an incredibly intense energy. The first piece in the Chakra Series
Welcome to my Chakra Series! Last week, I wrote an article called “Chakras: The Basics and How You Can Heal Yours.” There was quite a bit of positive feedback on the article (which I GREATLY appreciated), and to continue on the subject, I decided to begin this series, which will explore and discuss each chakra in greater depth, one at a time. We’ll be looking at the basic information about each chakra, as well as signs of imbalances and blockages and a variety of ways that each chakra can be cleared for optimal healing. Music actually does make you happier!
So let me start this out by saying that I have always had a love for music, as most people probably have. As a child, I was a competitive dancer and loved to make music using my tap shoes, and later on, I played the piano. When I was in middle school and high school, I did choir and show choir, and over the years, I have often looked to positive, uplifting music to help me boost my mood.
