Part 2 of the Self-Love Series
Welcome back, my loves, for the second part of the Self-Love Series.
I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason—that every experience we encounter shapes us in some way and is exactly what we need to experience at a given moment. And I believe that you clicked on this article for a reason. If you’re a close friend of mine, the reason could be that you’re just trying to support my creative project which is this blog (which is so sweet, and I love you all). But maybe you clicked on this article because you feel something lacking. Maybe you’re struggling to love and accept yourself. Maybe you’re looking for more ideas on self-care. Maybe you’re looking for someone to give you permission to love and take care of yourself in a world that can be very externally demanding. Part 1 of the Self-Love Series
Hopefully everyone has had a wonderful week. This has been my last week of winter break; classes start again tomorrow, and I could not be more ready. I’ve changed my major from education to English literature, and just reading through my syllabi online was getting me so excited! I can tell the next couple months are going to be amazing, and I hope they’ll be amazing for you, too. Continue reading “The Importance of Loving and Taking Care of Ourselves”
One day the wind will speak to you.
Hopefully everyone is doing well. I just got back from my two-week-long trip to India, which was absolutely amazing. There was lots of family time, delicious food cooked by my sweet aunts, buffalo and goats strolling down the streets, and some really heartwarming human connection. Traveling out of the country is always such a privilege, as it provides a great deal of perspective. I just love seeing how, in some countries, things are so different than what I’m used to in my daily life, yet it all works perfectly. It’s also really interesting to see how love and laughter serve as a kind of universal language. But that’s a thought for another post. Continue reading “Dust of Gold: A Sampling of Poetry”
When I was eight years old, I thought I was fat.
I hope this first week of 2018 has brought a great deal of joy and motivation to you all. I’m still in India and will be for a little while longer, but I plan on writing about it when I get home.
Since it is the New Year, I’ve been doing a little bit of thinking about New Year’s resolutions. If you read my previous article about my favorite New Year’s practice, you know I’m more prone to come up with intentions rather than resolutions, but, nevertheless, the latter are on my mind. …and I slowly and ceremoniously burn them.
Hello, and Happy New Year!
Does anybody else feel like 2017 flew by? Sometimes I feel like the older I get, the more quickly the years pass. It’s crazy. I’ve always really liked New Year, though. I love how everyone gets together and celebrates the leaving behind of the past and the raw possibility of the future. It’s so much fun, and honestly, it has always felt pretty spiritual to me. If you want to attract good things, you have to recognize what’s already good.
Hello, my lovely readers!
Hopefully everyone has had a warm and joyful holiday season. I know I’ve really enjoyed spending time with friends and family; it’s been a beautiful celebration of love.
If you’ve been keeping up with this blog for a while (or honestly, even if you’re just glancing at it for the first time), you’ve probably noticed that the things I choose to write about predominantly focus on various ways we can attract greater joy, abundance, and positivity into our lives—things such as practicing mindfulness, living authentically, exploring our creativity, accepting ourselves as we are, toning our chakras, listening to music, expressing gratitude, and embracing purposeful lives. If you keep waiting for the perfect circumstances, they will never come.
